From 6 to 9 September 2026, CMT Global Technologies’ Sam Chiong, Junmar and Wiljean were in Indonesia at the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Together with OCS Indonesia, the team had the opportunity to contribute towards the sustainability goals of the development through non-destructive testing (NDT).
Sustainability is more than protecting the environment. It is about creating a responsible balance between People, Planet and Spirit, and most importantly, turning these principles into practical action.
👥 PEOPLE
Through NDT, we help develop local technical capabilities, create meaningful employment opportunities and open new pathways for people within the community.
🌏 PLANET
NDT enables asset owners to understand the actual condition of existing assets without damaging them. Better information can help avoid unnecessary replacement, reduce material consumption and waste and safely extend the operating life of assets that remain fit for service.
💡 SPIRIT
Sustainability begins with a mindset of taking responsibility for what we have, making informed decisions and considering the needs of future generations. It means building a culture where safety, stewardship and long-term thinking are embedded in the way we operate.
By providing greater confidence in the condition, integrity and safety of assets, NDT supports better decisions: replacing only what is truly needed, extending the life of assets that can safely remain in service and using resources more responsibly.
It may be a small contribution, but it is a meaningful reminder of how engineering and technology can support sustainable development.
